Yes, abortion should be enshrined in the constitution!
In recent weeks, there has been repeated talk in the government and also in the opposition parties about enshrining abortion in the constitution. Volt already supported this demand in 2023 and has a clear position on it.
Hundreds of people take part in Marches for Open Borders to protest against border controls in Europe
Hundreds of people took part in demonstrations and protest marches at ten European borders to demonstrate for freedom of movement in Europe and against border controls at Europe's internal borders.
For equality: Volt at the Equality March 2025
On 12 July 2025, Volt Luxembourg participated with great conviction in the Equality March in Esch-sur-Alzette to join many committed individuals in sending a message of diversity, acceptance and the rights of LGBTQIA+ people. It is important to us to make it clear that equality and respect are not negotiable, but rather cornerstones of an open and inclusive society.
Yes to open borders: Happy Birthday Schengen!
Over the weekend, the small, historic Luxembourg municipality celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Schengen Agreement. On 14 June 1985, this agreement was signed on the Princesse Marie-Astrid by representatives of the five EC member states France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Today, the Schengen area comprises a total of 29 countries.
Women in politics
On 8 March, we walked in the feminist march for International Women's Day. One of Volt's main concerns is the problem that politics continues to be dominated by men.

Twitter was once a village square, a meeting place for ideas and insights. But in recent years, our village square has become a toxic place: X's algorithms give plenty of space to disinformation, extremist ideas and threats. It's no longer a nice place.

Schengen March: European protest against national border controls

The Pope's visit to Luxembourg

Statement regarding German border controls
Germany has announced renewed border controls, this time without any particular warning and without any particular events to justify them. Volt views this as highly problematic and condemns this action as an undermining of the Schengen Agreement.
Children have a right to information
In Luxembourg, a petition has now been signed by over 7,000 people, which is clearly directed against LGBTQIA+ people and wants to ban content about queerness from schools – Volt cannot tolerate this kind of discriminatory censorship.
Volt joins Greens/EFA in the European Parliament
Volt’s five elected MEPs will join the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament. The decision was announced after two weeks of negotiations and a membership vote by Volt Europa members across the continent. 💜💚
Our Reflections on the Election Campaign Results and Future Plans
Volt Luxembourg acknowledges that while our local results in the EU elections could have been better, we remain optimistic and proud of our achievements. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who believes in the Volt project. Their support and belief in our vision are what drive us forward.

The European elections are over. Volt was able to win two seats in the Netherlands and a total of three seats in Germany. We also took part in the elections in Luxembourg and won a total of 1.04% of the votes.
