Here's to a European 2026!

This year has been full of energy, encounters and visions for a stronger Europe. Particular highlights included the Marches for Open Borders, where hundreds of people demonstrated against the reintroduction of border controls in Europe, and the Volt Europa General Assembly in Frankfurt, where over 1,700 Volters from all over Europe came together to discuss the future of our continent. Here, we once again saw what makes Volt unique: our genuine European action, across borders, united by common values and goals.

As a European movement, we look back on 2025 with pride: we have continued to work to make Europe more democratic, sustainable and fair. Above all, we have shown that a new political generation is ready to take responsibility for the future of our continent.

Looking ahead to 2026, Volt Europa's key political priorities remain clear:

• Building a strong European transport system in which trains, buses and night connections connect people across the continent.

• Creating a common European defence and army to ensure peace, security and sovereignty in a changing world.

• Working towards affordable housing across Europe, so that having a home is not a privilege but a fundamental right.

• And above all: the goal of a united European democracy in the form of a federal union, sometimes referred to as the ‘United States of Europe’.

This vision is important to us: a Europe that decides, acts and protects together. A Europe that is strong because it is united.

As the year draws to a close, we would like to thank everyone who has been involved, discussed, organised or simply given hope this year.
